PrimeCredit has participated in the “SMS Sender Registration Scheme”
To assist the public in identifying and verifying the identities of SMS senders to combat SMS fraudulent activities, the Office of the Communications Authority and the telecommunications industry have co-operated in establishing the “SMS Sender Registration Scheme”. From today, PrimeCredit will be using Registered SMS Sender IDs with prefix “#” to send one-way SMS to local subscribers of mobile services in Hong Kong.
PrimeCredit has started using 4 Registered SMS Sender IDs – #PCL, #pcl, #WeWaClub, and #wewaclub – as sender addresses. Please note that the above “SMS Sender Registration Scheme” is not applicable to:
- SMS messages of which receiving parties are expected to reply to the senders via phone numbers; or
- Local subscribers of Single-Card-Multiple-Numbers/One-Card-Two-Numbers mobile service provided by non-Hong Kong operators.
You can also check the participating organisations and their registered sender IDs on the OFCA website (www.ofca.gov.hk).
Regarding the “SMS messages of which receiving parties are expected to reply to the senders via phone numbers”, PrimeCredit will continue to send through the following phone numbers: +85266570861XXXX to your registered mobile phone number for verification.
To safeguard your interests, please stay highly vigilant when receiving SMS from an unknown sender or a sender ID without the prefix “#”. Never disclose your personal information, credit card credentials or One-Time password, or click any embedded link or open any attachment in suspicious SMS. If you are in doubt of the received message, we recommend you write down the identity of the sender and their phone number, then call our Customer Service Hotline 2111 2999 to verify the sender’s identity.
